GREAT NEWS!!!!

Coach B has gotten the approval from our administration and our FIRST aerobic class will be tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 4th at 3:00 pm in the Media Center. That's right! We'll be dancing to a "challenging" Dancing with the Stars workout (um no, leave those skimpy dance outfits with feathers and sequince at home!). But anyway, Coach says the video should only take about 30 minutes or so. It will be fun! Plan to be there.... yeah for all you Dancing with the Stars fans, no ACTUAL PROFESSIONAL dancers will be present!

We can't wait to all continue our goal of getting in shape this season! :)

Congrats to Ms. Anna Griffith!

Congrats Anna! Great job!

She had the highest percentage of weight loss this week. I apologize that I am just now posting it on the site. Really, she should get early kudos. She's been working hard! This week her percentage was 2.06%. Overall though, she is down almost 10 pounds from when we started. Amazing huh?! Keep your eyes on her, she wants to take the grand prize and title of Leisure City's first ever Biggest Loser.
Anna wanted to pose with Janie because she says Janie helps keep her on track. Isn't that awesome? We all need a buddy like Janie. Don't get any ideas though... you'll have to find a different buddy.
Other winners (or "losers" ) included:
Second Place: Carrie Lee (AGAIN!) with 1.62% loss
Third Place: Ms. Stefanie Brown (You GO girl) with .85% weight loss
Other losses this week:
S. Castellon; B. Gordon; N. Flores; D. Polack and M. Servin
For other news... I've been in "talks" with Coach B and we are definately going to have an aerobic session soon for our staff. The session will most likely begin on Wednesdays in February and will run beginning at 2:15pm. In the works... a dance aerobic session on DVD led by the Dancing with the Stars dancers! Ok, so, can't get more motivated than that! Details to come soon!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Congrats to Ms. Beverly Gordon!!!

Ms. Gordon was this week's winner with a loss of 1.9%! She won a whopping $10 to use however she pleases. Here Ms. Gordon shows us just how she does it.... a great support system! I'm telling you, there must be something in that curriculum office. First Ms. Lee, now Ms. Gordon, hmmmm..... maybe it is all in the chocolate! Congrats again Ms. Gordon, super job!
Congrats also to the following participants who also had weight losses this week:
Second Place: Mr. Polack with 1.78%
Third Place: Ms. N. Flores with 1.6%
also with a loss this week: Ms. Deview, 1.46%; Ms. Griffith with .63%, Ms. V Flores with .19%, Ms. Boucaud with 1.4%, Ms. Norton with .9%, Ms. Lee with .81%
I know it was a hard week for everyone but let's bounce back and focus this week! We can all do it!

Remember tomorrow's weigh in....

Guys... don't forget! I know many of us (including myself) ate like hogs this weekend but remember we weigh in tomorrow at 8am. The earlier you arrive the better.... even if you anticipate a gain instead of a loss, it will still benefit you to come weigh in. If you're like me, knowing I'm up a bit will motivate me to eat and exercise. I'll see you then. Let's see who wins this week! :)

Food for Thought...

Hey everyone! SO GLAD you're all into this. What I figure is that if we get a good support system, we all win! Accountability is the key.

Ok, so, I had someone suggest that we extend this competition from 6 weeks to 8 weeks. I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this. So, here is what I'm proposing....

A. We extend to 8 weeks, ending on March the 4th

B. We leave it as is and then if anyone wants to go another round we can do so

Let me know what you think. I'll email everyone too as I know many people don't "blog"

Hugs and kisses to all of you. Have a wonderful, safe holiday weekend. I feel blessed to honor Dr. King on his day and hope to fulfill my dream too (to fit into my skinny jeans!)

This is really fun. Thanks Sandy for this idea. I needed something to motivate me and this was a great idea. Congratulations Carrie...but I'll get you next time...hehehehehe :)

And the WINNER is....

Congratulations to Mrs. Carrie Lee!
Yup! She was our Big Winner this week with an amazing 3.67% weight loss!

Here she is showing us just how she did it.... (can you tell it's a candy jar?!) No really, Carrie says she eats 5 times a day, small portions and usually snacks on fruits.
She won our $10 grand prize this week which she said she is going to use to get a pedicure. Talk about spending her money wisely! Well, the competition is in full force so, here are the people who also had weight loss this week. Remember all is NOT lost! Keep up the great work, we're all getting healthy in 2009! Even those of you who didn't see loss on the scale today, choose each day to eat healthy and exercise. You too can bounce back in one week!
2nd place winner for the week: Ms. Anna Griffith with 2.60% weight loss
3rd place winner for the week: Mr. Damian Polack with 2.31% weight loss
other "losers": J. Piedrahita: 2.08%, V. Bedoya: 2.03%; S. Castellon: 1.89%; M. Montero: 1.55%, D. Johnson: .39%, M. Norton: .38%
Good news! Our jackpot is up to $360 for the winner... we have another member just added. Dr. Jimenez!
